Remember the good old days of MTV? No? Well, some of us old people do. In between ads for jeans and Matt Pinfield’s husky drawl, classic music videos from artists such as Beck, Jane’s Addiction, and Superdrag (who DID suck out the feeling?) were once a common thing one could stumble upon on TV. But shortly after the music video was demonstrated to be a viable and entertaining art form, MTV and VH1 all but pulled the plug for the cheaper, bigger bang for the buck allure of reality television. Many a Miller High Life were poured out in mourning.
A decade later the mourning has turned to nostalgia, and you can imagine our surprise to find that the creative and generous folks over at Daykamp Creative have done their darndest to filling that hole in our heart. Daykamp Music TV is a new site that plays the best of Boston music videos continuously; fantastic artists such as Aloud, Freezepop, and the New Highway Hymnal rub shoulders with lesser-known artists seamlessly. We offer the sincerest of salutes to these fine people for the service they’ve provided. A lot of the users of Daykamp Music TV might not relate quite how some of us do to the nostalgia this brings. But many will, and an extra special layer of enjoyment is certainly added to this great service.
