In what seems like an eternity ago to no one, Fall Out Boy put their emo-influenced pop punk shenanigans on indefinite hiatus in late 2009. Three and a half years later, they’re inexplicably back with a pretentiously titled new album (“Save Rock and Roll”. Seriously.) and a world tour to follow. However, several dates, including their scheduled May 26 show at the House of Blues, have been cancelled for “personal reasons.”
While a handful of fans may still linger on, it’s hard to believe that Fall Out Boy’s music will resonate quite as well now that their fanbase is eighteen or over. For their sake I hope so; canceling two weeks’ worth of shows is not helping them any.
