The body found in the Stony Brook Reservation Tuesday has been identified as Amy Lord of South Boston.
Lord, 24, was a Wilbraham native and a Bentley College graduate who moved to South Boston and was working as a digital media analyst at Genuine Interactive. Those familiar with her said she was going to the gym early Tuesday morning, when, according to officials familiar with the investigation, a man held her at knife point and forced her into her car. He then had her withdraw cash from multiple ATMs before repeatedly stabbing her and dumping her body in Hyde Park’s Stony Brook Reservation. Her black Jeep was discovered after firefighters received a call at about 8:30 a.m. regarding a fire on Logan Way, where the car was apparently doused with flammable liquid and set alight.
Not even 24 hours later, another woman in South Boston was attacked Tuesday at around midnight on Gates Street as she entered an apartment building. She suffered stab wounds but was able escape. The assailant, identified as Edwin Alemany, 28 of Boston, was arrested several hours later after police were given a description of the suspect. He is being charged with Assault with Intent to Murder. Meanwhile, investigators have released photos and video footage from several ATM surveillance systems to the public.
