The Boston Pops “Holiday” program at Symphony Hall is a fun, festive, and magical holiday tradition that should not be missed.
Conductor Keith Lockhart does a wonderful job bringing this musical feast alive and getting you into the holiday spirit, along with the Tanglewood Festival Chorus. There is nothing more soothing than listening to their angelic voices fill the hall.
The musical repertoire included such songs as, “Hallelujah Chorus,” “Dance of the Tumblers” from The Snow Maiden, and the fun holiday classic “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”
An audience favorite is the sing-along, as you get to participate in the fanfare while singing traditional carols as “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” to “Jingle Bells.” The best surprise of all is that Santa always makes an appearance.
This year’s narrator for the “The Polar Express” is actor Will LeBow. He has performed extensively with the Boston Pops, narrating “Casey at the Bat,” “Twas the night Before Christmas,” and “A Christmas Carol.”
If you are going to make one family tradition this holiday season, it should be The Boston Pops!
