The funny man of SNL and 30 Rock fame is returning to the Wilbur theatre for a limited engagement on March 1st.
SD: When did you realize you could make people laugh?
TM: I was about 4 or 5. I was a class clown. Making others laugh is a good way to forget about your own problems. I like seeing others happy.
SD: Who have been your stand-up comic inspirations?
TM: Richard Pryor, but it was my father and uncles who really inspired me.
SD: Who was your favorite character to play on SNL?
TM: I really didn’t have a favorite character but Woodard was the one character who resembled me the most.
SD: Who or what inspires your stand-up routine and do you have any limits on what you will or won’t touch?
TM: A lot of it is based on me living my life. Now a days, you have to stay politically correct, so I have learned to keep my routine based on my life experiences.
SD: Any plans in the works for another TV show?
TM: I would love to return to TV especially if the right opportunity comes along. I love acting in movies too. I do have a comedy special “Bona Fide”, airing April 19th on Comedy Central. I have Rio 2 coming out this spring.
