Heartbeat of Home was created by the producers of Riverdance. It is a celebration of Irish, Latin and Afro-Cuban dance and music.
Act I begins with a breathtaking dance routine that fuses all the dancers and their styles. I am always amazed by the speed and athleticism it takes to be a dancer. These talented dancers made for an evening of thrilling and rhythmic toe tapping for all.
Act II moved a bit slower than the first act. It eventually picked up and started to crescendo till the end. One my favorite performance was the recreation of lunch atop a skyscraper. The dizzying visual effects made you feel like you were on top of the skyscraper along with dancers.
The featured Irish step-dancers, Ciara Sexton and Bobby Hodges were truly amazing. They both soared across the stage with thumping and tapping with precise dance moves. All the dancers were fantastic and exuberant with perfect execution.
It was a spectacular combination of dancers, musicians, and one very good singer, Lucia Evans. Although the Irish step dancing was the main focus of the show I wish that it was not so light on show casing some of the more ethnic dance routines.
Heartbeat of Home is very entertaining and will make you dance all the way home! The only misstep is if you miss this show.
Run time: 2 hours and 10 minutes, with one 15 minute intermission
