Funny man Colin Mochrie who is best known for starring on “Whose Line Is It Anyway?” is bringing his two-man tour and laughs, along with Brad Sherwood, to the Lynn Auditorium.
SD: How do you mentally prepare for performing improv?
CM: There is no real preparation. I just need to relax and walk onto stage and start talking. You just hope it all comes together and that you are funny.
SD: What do you like most about performing with Brad Sherwood?
CM: He is big so he can carry my luggage (laughs). We have known each other for over 20 years so I trust him. If I don’t know where he is going with a scene, I know I can trust him enough to follow.
SD: Are you funny all the time?
CM: No, that would be really hard to live with. My wife is actually really funny. In the ranks of family funniness, I come after my son and dogs. In real life, I’m really quiet. I am more of a listener than a participator.
SD: Who are your comedic inspirations and who would be your dream improv partner and why?
CM: I have a lot of people that I admire especially Bob Hope, Sid Caesar, and John Cleese, but I would love to perform with Jonathan Winters. He was the master of improv. He was the first person that I saw on TV that seemed so free and easy when it came to performing.
SD: What can the audience expect from your show?
CM: A live version of Whose Line Is It Anyways without the tall guy and black guy. It is just going to be a lot of goofy fun and audience participation. You won’t learn anything, but hopefully you will walk away laughing.
